Carbon footprint. . . how many
natural resources we use.
It is important to replace the use of nonreusable natural resources with sustainable resources such as wind, the sun and water.
*Some organizations dedicated to green design* LEED: Leadership Energy Environmental Design, Green Star, Green Globe
Buildings should last a long time and continue to be useful to future inhabitants. They should be reusable.
Proximity Hotel: the first hotel in the nation considered a LEED Platinum building.
The Gerding Theater-armory- another LEED Platinum building
*Good ideas* Solar panels to heat water, use skylights and windows for main, daytime lighting, refrigerators with geothermal energy, elevators that use reduced amounts of energy, air vents/ducts that are sealed off during construction.
